THE ROYAL MILITARY TATTOO

The Royal Military Tattoo, Edinburgh City Tour, Rosslyn Chapel And Dinner

August 4th – 26th 2023

Edinburgh has been the Capital of Scotland since the 15th Century and stands proudly on seven hills creating the dramatic skyline of this lively cosmopolitan city. What better way to see this fantastic city than from the comfort of your own VIP minibus?
Compare Edinburgh’s Old Town, where families lived in cramped conditions and rubbish was thrown out of the windows, to the elegant Georgian New Town with its three main streets and a square at either end. Hear about the hangings that took place in the Grassmarket as you marvel at the impenetrable Castle Rock above you and hear about the attempts to capture Edinburgh Castle. See the Royal Mile which joins Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyrood House.

This tour will highlight all the things to do and see in Edinburgh as you tour through the city streets. In the narrow streets of Edinburgh you were as likely to meet a murderer as a man of genius. Body-snatchers, witch hunters, firebrand priests and philosophers all living on the side of a dead volcano. During our tour we cover all the main sights of the Old & New City of Edinburgh. Starting on the famous Royal Mile, we lead you through the windy streets and up the hills to sites of executions, cloned sheep and the birthplace of Harry Potter. We then head just outside the city for your visit to Rosslyn Chapel. The chapel was founded in the 15th-century by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family. Since the late 1980s, the chapel has also featured in speculative theories concerning a connection of Freemasonry, the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. It was prominently featured in the 2003 bestselling novel “The Da Vinci Code” and its 2006 film adaptation. Rosslyn Chapel is privately owned. The current owner is Peter St Clair-Erskine, 7th Earl of Rosslyn. After we leave Rosslyn, we head back into Edinburgh for your evening meal at a traditional Scottish pub.

Then it’s up to Edinburgh castle and your reserved seating for quite simply, one of the most spectacular shows you will ever see, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo a truly global spectacle.

With the world famous Edinburgh Castle as their backdrop, the four corners of the globe meet and perform to 220,000 visitors over a 3 week period. In an unforgettable evening of music, ceremony, theatre and dance, the Tattoo brings together musicians and performers from every part of the world for a fabulous display of international culture.

After the performance, your driver will be waiting to return you to your accommodation.
